Tomb Mold & Grave Infestation @ Sneaky Dee's, Toronto (June 8, 2019).

My wife asked me to take her on more dates. So last night I decided to take her to an underground death metal show! Lucky for her, the Briefcase Mini-Fest Cold Summer is in full swing in Toronto and local beauties Tomb Mold were leading the charge with support by Grave Infestation and Dolmen Shrine. I unfortunately missed Oozing Wound the day before but you have to focus on the positive when it comes to these things, and that's TOMB FUCKING MOLD in this situation. Tomb Mold is a band that channels thick cavernous melodies and razor sharp riffage to drive home the carnage. They keep everything crushingly straight forward, yet cunningly technical with their fret and drum work. With several critically acclaimed demos and an EP and LP last year, they are set to release another full length album this year, entitled "Infinite Resurrection". I am extremely exited for the next chapter of this band and whatever else their decrepit fungi inspires along the way.

Playing in a small bar setting at Sneaky Dee's, was an unbelievable way to experience this caliber of raw power up close. We arrived right when Grave Infestation took the stage, and they absolutely annihilated the growing pack of metalheads mustering. Grave Infestation are on a very similar old school tangent, representing the west coast in Canada's new wave death metal. Tomb Mold quickly followed up and unleashed their insidious spore. They played for just under an hour, giving them plenty of time to explore their EP, LP's and new material. Some of my favourite moments were the tracks "Cerulean Salvation", "Planetary Clairvoyance", "Abysswalker", "Manor of Infinite Forms", and "Infinite Resurrection" with everything completely dialed! Everyone was left buzzing after the show with the band chatting with the crowd while packing up their gear. Cheers to the bands and everyone who came out to support some good Canadian death metal! My beautiful wife enjoyed the metal atmosphere and had a good time, and even my cat Merlin approves of the killer new merch I picked up!! Check out some photos of the night below.  /../;,,;/../
